As you may or may not know, my natural hair color is actually brown, not black. I definitely don't dislike my natural shade, but I love the look of a darker shade on me. I have been coloring my hair for a few years now and I totally prefer doing it myself at home. I find that coloring my own hair is easier, faster, and most importantly cheaper! Especially since I have very long hair! Salon rates are extremely outrageous for me, and again I prefer the convenience of being at home and doing it faster. As far as the timing between each coloring, I usually do it once every few weeks when my natural hair color starts to show up. Throughout the years I have tried multiple hair color brands and I recently started using Schwarzkopf Color Ultime. When it comes to hair coloring products, the main features I look for are long lasting color, true to box color result, and easy application. Those are exactly some of the great features Schwarzkopf Color Ultime offers and that is why I have been loving it so much. It gives me professional quality hair color at home that is easy to use, great shine, and produces a beautiful color result that actually lasts! I also love the variety of vibrant, fashion shades they have. I might even go red one of these days :D
Here is a step by step guide on how I color my hair at home with Schwarzkopf Color Ultime:
Since my hair is extra long, I use two boxes.
Next I pour the color cream into the applicator bottle with developer lotion
and shake the applicator bottle to mix both solutions together.
Now for the application, I divide my hair into two, apply a thin line of hair color right on the partition, and blend into the crown of the head.
Then I continue applying the product to the first half of my hair, and once the first half is done I finish with the other one.
After full application I put my hair up and wait 25 minutes
After 25 minutes I rinse my hair until the water starts to become clear. Then I apply the intensive care elixir conditioner and leave it on for about 5 minutes. Finally, I rinse everything again.
Below are the before and after pictures:
Before
After
As you can see on the "before" picture, my hair was already showing brown patches (my natural hair color). The "after" result is a gorgeous saturated color with lots and shine and a healthy look.
What Schwarzkopf Color Ultime shade would you get?
Remember to check out your local Walmart to obtain yours!
Totally recommended :D
